The transit of Qatar2 was observed on the night between june 6 and 7, 2012, beginning at
approximately 23:45 and ending at approximately 04:30 with a total of approx. 130
defocused images each of 120 seconds exposure time.

The image window starts at pixel (x,y)_0 = (370,2440) and counts 1550 pixels in the
x-direction and 1650 pixels in the y-direction. The focus value was 38.812mm, and the
defocus value 39.147mm. The image size of target in defocus was approximately 1000
pixels. Typical maximum counts in the defocused target image was 200,000. Some pixels in
comparison star C2 (the brightest of the stars) were occasionally around 500,000. The
CCD is expected to be linear up to 600,000 and saturation is at 700,000. The other
comparison stars had maximum values around 250,000 to 300,000 counts.

Image qatar2_120606_000002.fits and ...3.fits and ...4.fits are focused images taken before
the defocusing sequence.

The weather was clear (photometric) and calm all night long. Moon (close to full) raised
just before ingress.

Bias exposures and sky flatfields in R were taken on June 2, and again on xxx (probably
June 7).

I observed Qatar-2b on Jun. 22. The night was ok (not perfect), sky on allsky-cam
at La Silla looked hazily and seeing was not so good. I started to observe your
target at 00:18 UT and finished at 4:30 UT. Qatar sci frame 119 (last frame) is
broken, I stopped the observation there. Skyflats of night 20120622 # 1-5,9 not useful.
I used the following window:
XBEGIN:770, XSIZE: 1300
YBEGIN: 2350, YSIZE: 1550
I changed exptime:
01:44 UT to 120s
03:06 UT to 140s
You have 150 bias frames: 50 the night before, 50 evening same night and 50 morning same night.
I had no technical problems.

Weather conditions:Seeing started at >2 and changed a lot, its lowest value was around 1.2.
The wind was relatively high to begin with, when it reached >14m/s we had to stop the observations.

Focus and guide star values: Main focus: 38.7 mm.
The autoguider could not find a guide star (despite many trials), so autoguiding was not enabled.

Problems:
The target was not within pointing limits until 01:52, so we had little time to prepare.
Main focus correction due to temperature changes was enabled until 02:02 (our manual was
a bit unclear about disabling it), the focus changed from our initial 38.7 to 38.733,
when we discovered the problem we changed the focus back to 38.7 and disabled the
automatic focus correction.
The focus value was obtained with very poor seeing, when the seeing improved later we had
to reduce our exposure times considerably to stay under 350,000 counts.
We could not enable autoguiding, since it would not accept any of the guide stars we tried.
At 05:42 we had to stop the observations because the wind exceeded the pointing limits.
