Kingsley Gale-Sides works on the dynamics of the interstellar medium. With a background in computational modelling for the MetOffice, he looks at both "weather" (local processes such as molecular cloud formation, expanding bubbles) and "climate" (galaxy-wide processes such as galaxy interaction, galactic winds). Kingsley attended the ERIS school in The Netherlands, e-Merlin workshop in Manchester, Cloudy School in Belfast, ISM school in Heidelberg, conference in Madison and an ASKAP meeting in Australia. He also spent a month in Australia, observing and networking. Kingsly analyses high-resolution ATCA data of HI in the SMC, in emission and in absorption. He is now making his first steps into the optical regime. He hopes to submit his thesis soon, because he will start as a postdoc at the Institute of Astronomy in Cambridge in February 2017!
