Kingsley Gale-Sides worked on the dynamics of the interstellar medium. With a background in computational modelling for the MetOffice, he looked at both "weather" (local processes such as molecular cloud formation, expanding bubbles) and "climate" (galaxy-wide processes such as galaxy interaction, galactic winds). Kingsley attended the ERIS school in The Netherlands, e-Merlin workshop in Manchester, Cloudy School in Belfast, ISM school in Heidelberg, conference in Madison and an ASKAP meeting in Australia. He also spent a month in Australia, observing and networking. Kingsly analysed high-resolution ATCA data of HI in the SMC, in emission and in absorption, and undertook some optical spectroscopy of a large, embedded bubble. He moved on to a postdoc at the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge in February 2017.
