Joy Anih started her PhD at Keele in October 2020, working on near-infrared variability of active galactic nuclei (AGN) behind the Magellanic Clouds. The work is based mainly on the VISTA survey of the Magellanic Clouds (VMC) but also makes use of other survey data available such as WISE. She is supported by a TET Fund grant and uses the 11m Southern African Large Telescope (SALT) for follow-up spectroscopy.
