Spaceschool, University of Kent

Space school is an annual event organised by the School of Physical-Sciences at the University of Kent to promote all aspects of space science to school students.  It consists of a weekend residential visit to the University where students experience activities, demonstrations and lectures on current space science issues.  The weekend culminates in a model rocket competition whereby teams of students design, build and launch model rockets to launch an egg to a height of several hundred meters and safely return it to the ground.

I have been involved in the organisation and running of space school at Kent since its creation in 2001 and have given multimedia lectures as part of the programme:

"A multimedia tour of the Solar System" 2002

"Mars and the possibilities of life" 2003/2004

"Extra-solar planets and the search for life" 2006 - 2008
