Daddy long legs spider

Daddy long legs spider Identification:
Bite: None.
Habitat: Garage and bathroom.
Notes: Both a male and a female.
If it's a spider and not a Harvestmen, then the Daddy long legs is easy to identify. These two, a male and a female (I hope I have got them the right way round) were sitting by their web on our garage wall.

The two spiders varied significantly in size, and I assume the smaller of the two is the male. I managed to get up quite close to them with a ruler before they ran off, quite quickly and what looked like it was painful.

We have loads of these around the house, and I like them becuase they can easilly kill the more dangerous spiders like the redback. All spiders are your friends, but these are more friendly than others.
